Dave began dancing when he was just ten years old at home with his father and mother, who were acclaimed ballroom dance competitors and instructors. He continued training throughout his teen years, in Ballet, Ballroom, Latin, Jazz and Modern Dance until age 18. Following a brief sabbatical from dance to pursue his hobbies of roller/ice dancing, horseback riding/rodeo, sports and parachuting, Dave returned to the dance floor in 1983 as a competitive dancer and trained under the guidance of various world champions in Ballroom, Modern Dance, Country Western, West Coast Swing and Latin.
Today, dynamic energy and a passion for musical rhythms inspire Dave to choreograph and teach in an eclectic meld of Latin, Swing, Ballroom, Jazz and Country Western. Prior to the past 20 years as a professional dance instructor, Dave earned his Masters in Dance and Theater from Florida State University and is a proud recipient of 13 National Grand Championship titles. He has been called upon to teach all over the Untied States, South America, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Canada.
As a choreographer, Dave Urquidez is deeply in tune with both the adult and child perspectives, creating dance routines that capture students' enthusiasm, depth, humor and competitive spirit - whatever their age!
Tina moved to Cheyenne in late 2015
from Jacksonville, Florida where she developed a love for ballroom. After
driving by a dance studio every day near her home at Jacksonville Beach, always
wanting to give it try, she finally got the courage to walk in the door. Her
life has not been the same since. Soon after, she was in the studio
nearly 6 days a week learning every ballroom and Latin dance that was offered.
These include: Foxtrot, Tango, Jive, Samba, Mambo, Jitterbug, and West Coast
Swing. Tina has trained in American Rhythm and Smooth and graduated DVIDA Full
Bronze level in 2015 in Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Hustle,
and East Coast Swing. She has enjoyed performing numerous showcases and
formation group dances in the studio’s quarterly Achievement Balls. Her
favorite dances are Cha-Cha and East Coast Swing. With such a love to dance
Tina began looking for a new studio upon her move to Cheyenne. She has been a
student with Dance Spirit Dance Studio since. With her easy-going, calm and
patient personality, she is now eager to teach beginner hopefuls, just like she
